Let me tell you one thing…when I first started my photography journey, I wish someone told me all the right and wrong things to buy. Can you blame me though? You get so excited about starting something, you begin listening to so many other people within the industry. Before you know it you’re shopping cart on Amazon is in the four-digit range and your credit card is screaming for help. I have wasted so much time and money trying to find the products that are the holy grail of the holy grail and guess what? I think I’ve found them. These are my all-time favorite photography accessories. The ones that have been with me through it all and pretty much never leave my side. Oh, and by side, I totally mean the backseat of my car lol.
RF 28-70mm Lens
If you are wanting a lens that is perfect for literally everything then the RF 28-70mm lens is for you. This lens has quickly made its way into my camera bag and I don’t think I could ever part with it. I think it is the perfect lens if you are looking for versatility and want those perfect crisp shots. That f/2 on a ZOOM LENS (what?) just can’t be beat. Here are are two portraits that are both shot with my RF 28-70 lens!
RF 85mm Lens
Okay, okay… so I may be dramatic when I say this. However, I think this might be my all-time favorite camera lens. Eep, I said it. I know it’s crazy but it’s true. The angles and crisp coloring that the RF 85mm Lens gives you has made me fall and fall hard. I don’t think I could ever part with it and frankly, I don’t want to. Here are the same photos from above shot on my RF 85mm lens! It’s crazy the subtle yet powerful difference these two lenses have.
Canon R6
Speaking of camera lenses, my all-time favorite camera body has got to be the Canon R6. Not only is the body of the camera just comfortable to hold but it is SO stinkin’ easy to use. It does cost a pretty penny, but let’s just say that it is completely worth it when you get to see the results. It’s definitely worth the investment and if you’re a photographer looking to upgrade, I highly recommend the Canon R6. It’s a camera body that I recommend to almost everyone!
Elephant SD Card Holder
Whether you’re a photographer or not, you may know that SD cards are everything. They are the bread and butter and essentially help keep our work collectively together. Now you also will know that if anything happens to those SD cards, let’s just say it is not a good time. That’s why making sure that your SD cards are cool, calm, collected, and protected has got to be one of your main priorities. This Elephant SD Card Holder is the perfect way to make sure that your SD cards are weather-proof and water-proof. Your SD cards are safe, and so are you! It’s a win-win.
SanDisk SD Cards
Not the most glamorous of purchases, but the SanDisk SD Cards are some of my most recommended photography accessory purchases. SanDisk does an amazing job of building these SD cards and they very rarely give me any trouble in terms of uploading or usage. They are my go-to SD cards and a continuous repurchase for me.
Lens Wipes
We’re talking practicality here, okay? Lens Wipes are an absolute necessity, especially when it comes to prepping before a shoot. The last thing you want is for your lens to have smudges, and fingerprints or be foggy right before shooting. You want to make sure that your images are coming out clear and crisp. That’s not only what your hard work deserves but what your photo subjects deserve as well. So do me a favor and stock up on these lens wipes. They are an absolute must-have in my book.
WD Hard Drive
Being a photographer means that we need to make sure that we keep everything backed up. Typically in multiple different places. Since we typically can’t re-shoot something, we need to make sure that we are backing up everything. Sometimes even backing up the backups. That’s why having a quality hard drive is so important. I mean, we can’t rely on our computers to do all the heavy lifting, right? The WD Hard Drive is a fan favorite and after purchasing it for the first time I finally see why. It has plenty of storage and is a great investment for your business. It does cost a pretty penny but is well worth it to ensure that your images are kept safe.
G-Drive SSD Hard Drive
If for some reason you are unable to purchase the WD Hard Drive, the next best bet and equally great is the G-Drive SSD Hard Drive. This hard drive does the job and does it well. It has kept my images stored properly, is compact, and is definitely top-recommended for any and all photographers out there.
Mac Desktop
Last but certainly not least is my handy-dandy Mac Desktop. More specifically, the 27-inch Mac Desktop. Let me just say that this desktop does everything you want to AND MORE. It’s fast, efficient, and works well with most editing software that you will use on a daily basis. I am a through-and-through Apple girl and I have no shame about it!
