Emilie & Andrew’s Love Story

Emilie and Andrew have been together around 3 years, but have actually known of each other their whole life. They are two years apart however, attended the same elementary, middle and high school together! It wasn’t until years later that they were reunited by a lovely dating app (rhymes with rumble) that their connection formed and flourished into what it is today. Whenever I work with my couples I always like to send out some questionnaires to get to know them better. This overall helps me make sure that I am capturing your special day as authentically and true to yourselves as possible. When asked “what is one word to describe your love” they responded “comforting”. Now if that isn’t the sweetest thing I have ever read, I don’t know what is.

Emilie and Andrew had their rustic wedding at Battle Mountain Farm which is located in College Grove, Tennessee. It’s located on 240-acres of land and seriously has some of the most beautiful landscaping I’ve seen. Tennessee Wedding at Battle Mountain Farm

I arrived that afternoon at Battle Mountain Farm and the venue immediately took my breath away. I was met with a beautiful restored rustic barn and land that stretched out for miles. It was a beautiful day for a wedding and I seriously couldn’t wait.

Getting Ready

Typically when I arrive on a wedding day, I will usually start by taking some detail photos. Detail photos are essentially the small details that help tell your wedding day story. Some items you can include in your details shots are:

Shoes
Perfume or Cologne
All Three Rings
Invitation Suite
Floral Trimmings (ask your florist for this!)
Cufflinks
Veil
Any other Jewelry

When it comes to gathering all of these items together, I normally suggest having a box or container where everything is put in one place. That way as soon as I arrive I can get started on shooting and we won’t have to stress about gathering everything together. Tip: Assign someone (either a family member or someone in your wedding party) to keep watch of the box of details. That way we don’t have to bother you while you’re getting hair & makeup done!

Shortly after slipping into her dress and putting the final touches on her look, Emilie wedding day look was officially complete! Oh and did she look absolutely stunning – I just about died!

Outdoor Unplugged Ceremony

For Emilie and Andrew’s outdoor ceremony, they opted for an unplugged ceremony. An unplugged ceremony is when the couple requests that their guests put away all cell phones, cameras or any other devices and electronics. This allows them to be more present and in the moment during the actual ceremony! Rather than getting distracted from the random flashes and movements happening in the crowd, the couple is not only able to be more present, but their guests are as well. I absolutely love the whole idea of unplugged ceremony because it’s true, it does add more intention and focus on celebrating the couple. What do you think?

Since their ceremony was an unplugged one, you could just feel the anticipation in the air as we all stood their waiting for Emilie to walk down the aisle. As expected, jaws were dropping at the sight of Emilie in her beautiful dress gracefully walking down the aisle. It was as if all time stopped and all eyes were on her, because they were – lol. Standing underneath this beautiful floral a-frame arch with a fountain view behind them, Emilie and Andrew swore their devotion to each other.

Portraits

After the ceremony was over, I snuck away the newlyweds and their wedding party for some portraits. Since again, Battle Mountain Farm is located on 240-acres of land there was plenty of space for us to work with.

This may sound like a broken record, but in order to ensure that we have enough time for your portraits with your partner, wedding party and family, it is essential to have a well organized and well thought out wedding timeline. Your wedding timeline is the bread and butter that helps make everything on your wedding day run smoothly and efficiently. This wedding timeline is crucial when working with my couples to make sure that we are getting all the photos they want! Thanks to our well thought out timeline, we were able to have enough time to run throughout the wedding venue, soak up all of the beauty and make it back in time for the reception.

Reception

The event barn located at Battle Mountain Farm was next level dreamy. Their were twinkling lights and a gorgeous crystal chandelier that made this renovated event barn a rustic wedding dream. Emilie and Andrew’s wedding theme was surrounded around green, white and blush pink tones which paired perfectly with the rustic features of this beautiful event space. We ended the night celebrating with Emilie and Andrew’s closest family and friends. Of course, it was only fitting that I sneak the newlyweds outside for some last minute night shots before packing up my bags to leave. I got some amazing double exposures and was (and still am) completely obsessed. What about you?
