Nashville Winter Wedding at Clementine Hall

One of the best parts about my job is being able to capture one of the most life changing moments in my couples lives. I mean think about it… a whole day dedicated to all things lovey dovey and romantic and trust me… this job is not for the faint of heart. Tears galore and all the fuzzy heartwarming moments are not for everyone but they SURE are for me. When Danielle and Jon first inquired for me to shoot their wedding, I pretty much jumped for joy. While Danielle and Jon are originally from Atlanta, Georgia they often travel up to Nashville. It was only fitting for them to have their wedding in Nashville as well! Their wedding day vision sounded like so much fun so of course I was all in. Their Nashville winter wedding at Clementine Hall was one for the books, and I am so excited to be sharing it with you today!

The Love Story

Woah there.. I know we just met but we can’t just dive into someone’s wedding day without learning a bit about them, right? Thanks to the lovely creation of social media and dating apps, so many couples have been able to find love. Danielle and Jon met over Hinge and decided to meet for the first time in person over lunch. Since then, their connection only grew stronger and stronger. They both enjoy going out to dinner and doing fun activities like going bowling or to a movie. Danielle and Jon have the most fun spending time with each other and enjoying each other’s company which at the end of the day… is what matters.

After getting engaged they knew that they wanted to look back on their wedding day and remember all of the little details and small moments. Your wedding day can fly by just like that, so making sure that even the littlest of moments are documented was incredibly important to Danielle and Jon. *Cough* *Cough*… that’s where I come in.

Getting Ready

The entire day’s festivities took place at Clementine Hall in Nashville, Tennessee. With access to the hustle and bustle of downtown Nashville, Clementine Hall is seriously a one of a kind wedding venue. It ties in Nashville’s historic elegance after being rebuilt in 2018, about 130 years after it’s original construction. Now, Clementine Hall is one of Nashville’s prize gem’s when it comes to wedding venues. This Nashville wedding venue holds so much life, character and uniqueness that it was a no brainer for Danielle and Jon to choose this as their wedding location.

We started off with Danielle and Jon both getting ready. Danielle and her bridesmaids were getting ready in one of the many dressing rooms that Clementine Hall has. While I was off with the girls, our second shooter went to spend time with Jon and his groomsmen. If you’re wondering why a lot of wedding photographers may recommend a second shooter on your special day, this is one of those reasons! Unfortunately we have not developed the skill of teleportation so we can’t be in two places at once. In comes the second shooter who is able to take photos of events happening simultaneously with another one. That way there is no stone unturned and every moment is captured.

The First Look(s)

Danielle completed the final touches to her look before slipping on her gorgeous dress designed by Pronovias. It flowed so beautifully and she just looked absolutely stunning. While I could admire all of her beauty, her bridesmaids had yet to see what she looks like. Just like that, it was time for the first look

As soon as all of the bridesmaids opened their eyes, their jaws dropped. Eyes lit up, tears were flowin’ and it truly was a special moment for all of them. Trust me… it’s tough to keep yourself composed in moments like this!

Danielle also chose to do a first look with her Dad shortly after, and of course… here came the waterworks. Her parents also gifted her this beautiful and dainty gold necklace which she wore for the remainder of the day. Then came the moment that we ALL were waiting for. Danielle and Jon’s first look moment. Naturally we were all shaking in our shoes just waiting for the moment he turned around and let me tell you… it did not disappoint. Fun fact: before Danielle even knew Jon she wrote a “dear future husband” journal which she gifted him during their first look. Brb… crying!!! I could say so much more about this beautiful moment, but instead I will let the photos do all the talking.

What is a First Look?

A first look is an opportunity for a little bit of privacy and intimacy before all of the craziness of your wedding day. Leading up to your wedding day, there is so much anticipation being built. If you are someone who is nervous about being front of a lot of people a first look is the PERFECT option for you. Get that glimpse of your partner before walking down the aisle can save you a lot of angst and give you both a moment to yourselves! Oh and don’t forget that first looks are not just for you and your partner, it can be done with your wedding party & parent/guardian.

Nashville Winter Wedding at Clementine Hall

After their first look, we moved inside Clementine Hall for their winter wedding ceremony. Can we just take minute to appreciate the absolutely INSANE decor that was in their ceremony space. Florals galore and candles that lined the sides of the aisle. It was just perfect and tbh, you wouldn’t have known it was dead of winter!

During the ceremony, it is my goal to remain as invisible as possible while still being able to capture every moment of your special day. I always say pretend I’m not there, partly because it is less distracting for you but I also am able to catch those raw & real moments that we are going for. Within what felt like seconds, the ceremony came and went and Danielle & Jon were officially newlyweds – YASSSS.

Portraits, Portraits, Portraits

After the ceremony, I snuck the newlyweds outside to do some wedding portraits! Based on the timeline that I create with all of my couples, we’re able to carve out time on your special day to get some solo photos of just you two. Before heading back inside, the rest of the wedding party joined us for some group shots and a classic groom toss. Who doesn’t love those, right??

Fake Snow & Getaway Cars

Danielle and Jon’s reception space gave us very much moody realness. The same theme of greenery, flowers and candles carried over into their reception space and I was in awe. They had plenty of space for dancing and additional activities like their very own selfie station. First dances and cake cutting occurred before the dance floor opened up and everyone went crazy! You may or may not see me gettin’ groovy on the dance floor at some point but you know what? #sorrynotsorry.

Before packing up my camera for the night, I snuck Danielle and Jon away one last time to get some photos on their firebird getaway car. While it may not have been as fast & furious as the movies, it still was pretty epic. We ended their special night with a grand exit filled with streamers & fake snow. A perfect ending to an absolutely perfect night, don’t ya think?
